At Carey Services, we're passionate about creating opportunities for ALL individuals to shine in the workplace.
We're proud to partner with fantastic employers like Grant County Treasurers Office, who embrace this vision
alongside us. Tiffany Griffith, the Treasurer of Grant County, shared the story of Amanda with us. Amanda is an
individual who received employment coaching from Carey Services and was hired to work part-time during a
busy property tax season at the Treasurers office!
Tiffany shared, "I saw first-hand, after hiring Amanda, how the office
atmosphere was positively impacted. Amanda was excited to be in the
office and worked diligently to complete her day to day workload. Her
excitement permeated through the office creating a ripple effect with the
rest of the staff. Her willingness to help others and her ability to be a team
player helped our office complete our project ahead of our scheduled
deadline. The work ethic in any business has declined immensely since
Covid interrupted our lives. Trying to find staff who are willing to put in the
effort, be dependable, and reliable has been a constant struggle. Carey
Services not only helped to take a bit of stress off of our shoulders by
helping with our staffing needs, they also played a huge part in making
sure that everyone felt communicated with and that everyone’s needs
were met." Amanda's story is a testament to the fact that hiring individuals with disabilities brings fresh
perspectives, enriches workplaces, and boosts overall performance.
Our [Early Head Start] staff have continued to be at the forefront of educating
and supporting our children and families this past year. We have several staff
who have moved up in positions as they completed their degrees! We have
seen some staff retire as well and losing long time staff hurts, but seeing newer
staff excited to move forward in their career helps to know EHS will continue
growing and changing. Seeing this dedication in staff brings so much support
and encouragement to all, knowing EHS will continue to be the best Early
Childhood Education Center in Grant and Blackford Counties. We were very
pleased to be notified by the Administration of Children and Family that our EHS team celebrating the retirement of
program again received a cost of living wage increase for staff. We look Stephanie Ellet, Classroom Supervisor
forward to raising the base wage even more in the future to attract future staff
to the wonderful field of Early Childhood Education. We look forward to many
more years of working with wonderful families in Grant and Blackford Counties
as we join in partnership to accomplish the goals of these families!
