Empowering people on their own path to success is a responsibility the Carey Services Board of Directors
takes seriously. Our Board members routinely get to see the positive impact passionate Carey Services
team members make every day to empower people. This last year, the Carey Services Board saw
wonderful examples of employees and the people served by Carey Services taking their own unique path
in life and being bold and empowered to do so.

The word “empower” is important as I think about the Board’s responsibility to support and encourage Jim
and his team to help the people served by and employed at Carey Services to have the experience of a
lifetime. The Carey Services Board of Directors has worked, likely harder than ever, to empower the team at
Carey Services to “think big,” to “take measured risk,” and to create services and support systems through
“Big, Hairy, Audacious Goals” or “BHAGs” now and in the future. The Board has seen the Carey Services
team embrace the latter, especially, as we think about empowering people on their unique path.

During this past year, Jim shared a significant BHAG with the
Board to position us for the future. The vision is simply
“Carey Services is committing itself to achieving the goal,
by the end of this decade, of being a nationally recognized,
nationally award-winning industry leader in employing and
serving people in the disability and early childhood
intervention industries with world class.” The vision is bold
and empowering. At Carey Services, it’s bold thinking
toward an impactful vision that makes our Board meetings
exciting to attend. I know that is the case for other Board
         members as well.

Carey Services empowers people on their paths to see
success for prenatal mothers and children from birth to age
three in our Early Head Start programming, and people of
all ages and abilities under the direction of our disability
services division. So how can you help? Take a moment to

opportunity to share more with you.
